Part of my most recent mistakes was trying to fix my RSS issues… this after already phailing when:

• messing up my image database;
• using symbols in my titles (don’t do it!)

As you might have noticed, my category RSSs aren’t working again. So i tried to fix it… naturally on my live website (since I’m a noob) through messing around with my permalinks. As a result I messed up the database… I fixed most issues, but a few posts are still MIA.

Please accept my apologies and learn from my errors: don’t go see Episode 3… not, it was another error I was thinking about… uh… what?

Continuing on my ability to be an absolute blog noob, and following my first database debacle (where i used a widget and deleted all my images from my database) and my issues with RSS (I found some helpful info about that here) … I just found out something new about Wordpress.

You can’t use the symbol “<” in titles.

I had created a post for the new iPhone 3G (find it here) and titles it “We <3G iPhone Craze.”

I thought I had been pretty smart… I was saying “we heart” but with a witty internettish style and the whole heart symbol “<3″ tied perfectly with the “3G.” A freaking genious…NOT!

Cause the symbol “<” cuts the title. Check out how my post shows on Otaku.fm or simply by looking at its link: “http://www.americajin.com/2008/07/we/“ … I discovered this checking out my website through my blackberry…

(AAARGH!)

Have you ever had bad experiences like this?

So now I called the article “iPhone, Sorry 1st Gen Owners” - pretty lame…

Anybody have some advice on how to place the symbol “<” in a titl

Lesson learned: keep things simple…

UPDATE:

I managed to get everything back in place (I hope, plz let me know if you see odd things around). I simply had to re-upload and reinsert most images for my July posts. Not too difficult,  but just a bit of a hassle and fortunately we are only on July 4th, so not too many posts :)
