PS3 Graphics Beating 360?
As reported on Destructoid.com Sony Computer Entertainment’s VP Product Marketing Scott Steinberg has stated:
“that the PlayStation 3 is starting to show its graphical superiority over rival consoles, and that soon the graphics on other platforms will look quite dated.”
In his words:
“I think that we’re seeing, graphically, PS3 games starting to create some distance and some of the other competitors are going to feel that they’re getting long in the tooth, looking quite dated, because they haven’t created that ten-year vision from a horsepower standpoint.”
Let’s have a look at some recent releases… what is your opinion?
Devil May Cry 4…
Lost Planet…
Ninja Gaiden Sigma (top is Xbox ~ not 360, thanks Ron for correcting this, find more about Sigma at Otadesho.com ~ bottom is PS3)
Skate…
Assassin’s Creed…
What do you think?
In Lost Planet and Ninja Gaiden the graphics are significantly better in PS3. For the others I can’t notice much of a difference.

With what said by Ron I pretty much see no relevant difference… Assassin’s almost looks better on 360…

I’m no PS3 crazy fanboy (I’m a 360 fanboy) but I think that VP is saying that the PS3 graphics are recovering from the initial lag and getting better than the 360 on games tailored for the PS3. Its kindofagiven that games that release both on PS3 and 360 are quite similar - is there a way to look at graphics level of 360 exclusive game vs. a PS3 exclusive?

I’m not surprised that the PS3 is starting to improve. Maybe developers have figured out the architecture of the PS3 and have learned how to optimize the SPUs for better performance.
