Persona 4 PS2 Date Finally Announced
So the Anime Expo didn’t only bring us some great cosplay and some nice figures, but also some good video game news. Persona 4 is confirmed to be released in North America on December 9th 2008 for PS2, retailing for $39.99. So go ahead and dust the old machine, cause it looks like we’re in for some fun.
Plus, together with the game we’ll also be getting the soundtrack (included in the price).
For those who don’t know Persona, Persona 4’s story will take place in the Japanese rural town of Inaba, where you will use your mystical powers to solve bizarre murders and keep up with your life in highschool. It will not be the sequel to Persona 3, so the big question is - which of the old characters will we see again?
1Up actually has a really good interview with project lead Yu Namba and lead editor Nich Maragos (you can find here) where it is also confirmed that Persona 4 will be keeping the Japanese honorifics that seemed to annoy many fans of the series.
Personally, I’m happy to hear that! The honorifics (-san, senpai, -chan, etc) add a lot of depth to the game and make me feel a lot more as if I’m getting the authentic Japanese school experience…
Here is the trailer made available by Atlus.
